Official mapped waters

Water locations come from NJDEP’s trout-stocked lake centroids and stream midpoints. Our snapshot was checked September 5, 2026. Map pins identify a water, not a verified public entry, parking area, or boat ramp.

County labels use U.S. Census county boundaries at the mapped point. Rivers and streams may continue across county lines. Nearby distances are straight-line distances between map points.

Published does not mean completed.

The available state GIS schedule contains 2025 plans. We retain their original dates and identify them as past schedules with unverified completion. We do not move them to the current year or count them as recently stocked fish.

A completed record needs an actual stocking date and completed status. Recent-stocking labels use New Jersey calendar dates and never treat a future release as a completed event. A source-check date tells you when the source was read; it does not make an old record current.

Fishing reports describe a particular day.

Local reports are short attributed summaries with the publisher’s report date. They are editorially reviewed, not a live catch feed. Read the original report, then check newer conditions before leaving. We do not turn anecdotes into stocking records or promise that fish are still biting.

Access and regulations

Where verified details are missing, we display “Not currently available.” A general license summary cannot cover every age exemption, season, or special water. Use the current NJ Freshwater Fishing Digest and the land manager’s notices for your exact trip.
